As a creative agency, we believe inspiration can come from anywhere. A lot of times that creativity flows through music—whether it’s a chill playlist that keeps us in the zone or a track that sparks an entire campaign idea. So, it’s no surprise that Nomadic is full of music lovers. With months of triple digit temperatures ahead of us, there is no doubt we’ll need some tunes to help us stay focused and decompress during the dog days. We’ve curated three different vibes for a summer of working, road-tripping and hanging poolside. Buckle up, because we Nomads are an eclectic bunch.
Some of us need an instrumental melody to get us in a productive groove, and some of us need a hype man in the form of a three-minute banger in order to do our best work (shout out to the Nomad who works to “Burning Up” by BTS). For the most part, we collectively curated a list of chill, head-bobbing tunes by artists like J.Cole, Tom Misch, Alabama Shakes, Rationale and Amber Mark to get our creative juices flowing. Oh, and of course, Fifth Harmony’s “Work from Home” had to be included, because 2020.
A good road trip playlist consists of epic tracks that make you want to roll the windows down and sing along at the top of your lungs. With the year we’ve had, we Nomads are excited about getting away to rest, recharge and come back feeling inspired by the time away from our WFH desks. Many of us have road trips planned for this summer, and we’ve pooled together tracks with retro 70s, 80s and 90s flair for those drives. We’ve got shoulder shimmiers from George Duke, Rag’n’Bone Man and St. Lucia; 70s-esque melodies from Bobby Caldwell and Fleetwood Mac; and lo-fi 90s vibes from Beverly and Cailin Russo—all perfect for making waves with your hand out your car window.
One of the perks of living in Arizona is the option to stay poolside for 7 months out of the year. Some of us even take Zoom meetings with our feet in the water every once in a while. With the weather warming up (like seriously, we already hit 100° in April), we’re gearing up for a summer of swims with a mix of pop hits from Dua Lipa and Charli XCX, the bossanova-like grooves of Saint Privat and Tep No, and reggae jams from Sister Nancy and Sean Paul. And how could we forget to “Buss It” poolside?
